Exit Splash by Dave Guindon - Reviewed

You probably surmised that 'Exit Splash' is a program which tracks the departing web surfer who will never come back. As always it's great to get a second opportunity to make a first impression and maybe even convince your visitor to buy.

The exit splash software that exists essentially falls into two categories.

There is the type which grabs you on exit with a PHP or hover window flying in to catch your attention. But you can still exit out the window by clicking the exit button.

Exit lockers -- those are the gray windows style pop ins or the little chat window which comes into lock you in place and you have to x out of them before you can leave the page. As an Internet user and web browser obviously those that lock me onto the page can be a bit annoying especially when it's an offer which doesn't interest me. Having to click on OK and then usually the next screen which says click OK to continue or cancel to go back to the page means 2 extra clicks for me when I wanted to get off of the page.

Currently, on the other side of the coin as a webmaster like Dave Guindon, I would prefer another opportunity to obtain the interest of the visitors I put so much time into to bringing to my site. So the real issue is "how do I go about taking care of this without bothering them in any way?"

Of course, I have made reference to this before, but surely you want to validate the exit splash offer for your own needs. When I'm browsing around the Internet I always like to keep an eye on what other webmasters are doing. Those who have these exit scripts I take note of whether they do a good job presenting me a sec and offer and then I can model what they are doing on my own sites. As ever, make sure you try several varied exits to find which one your clients prefer.
